🎮Gamifying Learning To Make It More Engaging And Fun
I knew I needed a way to make them engaged in learning to cook better. So, taking insight from my learnings about games, I decided to give them a game. For the third class, they would have to cook for another COE class: Geocaching.
Now unlike in real life, their bad cooking would harm others, namely the sanity of college students already on the brink of death from chronic cramming. This was incredibly effective at getting them to pay attention and apply their cooking skills in the third class. Once the day came and they were tasked with making homemade burritos full of guacamole, sour cream, cheese, ground beef, and of course love, they were more than up for the task.
The Geocaching and Backcountry Cooking classes vibing.
You can make any learning endeavor into a game if you add some sort of goal with rules and feedback for getting there. I made the poetry video I’m creating more engaging by creating challenge segments throughout where I read my poem alongside two other similar themed poems from famous poets and ask a friend to rate which one is best.
🪶Awareness Cuffs
Speaking of poetry, my 30 days to learning poetry video is coming out soon. Here’s another poem I wrote recently taking insights from the video.

📖Book - The Reason For God By Timothy Keller: A fascinating book arguing the importance of religion—particularly Christianity—more than ever in an age of skepticism. I’m reading this because of my experience interfaith dating a few weeks ago. Even though it has made me more certain of my atheism, it has given me greater respect for religious people and beliefs.
📺YouTube Video - The Science Behind An Attractive Personality: A fascinating video which explores the three things that underly an attractive personality. Looks aren’t the only thing that matter.
